Q: Do seeds, leaves, pine needles, or roof grit clog the system?
A: The design lets non-clogging debris (like roof grit) wash through, since these are small and water can carry them out. The bars block larger clog-forming debris such as leaves, maple seeds, or pine needles. In areas with heavier debris, they recommend using a Wide Mouth Outlet to reduce potential snagging.
Q: Will installing RainDrop under shingles damage or void my roof warranty?
A: No. RainDrop can be installed under shingles, and doing this will not void your roof warranty, provided you do not nail the back flange through all layers of roofing without sealant. The guard is fastened only to the front lip of the gutter when installed under shingles. If preferred, there’s also a “drop-in” style of install.
Q: What is the warranty process?
A: To take advantage of the warranty, either the homeowner or contractor must register the installation within 30 days of completion. Proof of purchase is required if a claim is made. RainDrop Gutter Guard The warranty covers material defects under normal use over the 20-year period.
